G enerally, s omeone who is s elected for the program pays between 30% and 40% of their income for rent, and the res t is paid by the F ederal G overnment through the V illage of Os s ining S ection 8 P rogram.

12/22/11 Village of Ossining - Section 8 Housing What Type of Housing Qualifies Any existing rental housing unit such as apartments, co-ops, condominiums and houses can be eligible for the program. This means you could remain in your present dwelling unit, or you may move to another unit. For the dwelling unit to be approved, it must be found to be in safe and sanitary condition by the Village of Ossining Building department, and the rent for the unit must be considered reasonable in comparison to apartments NOT on the Section 8 Program.

Village of Ossining Payment Standards Payment standards are the maximum subsidies the program will allow the participant based on the number of family members and the size of the apartment as of 1/1/2011.
