Dear Mr. Oglesby:
I would like to express my gratitude for your participation in our Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) - sponsored roundtable discussion and meeting with the public on October 9, 2012, to discuss the issues surrounding the mechanical wear of the steam generators at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS). The input you provided was relevant to the discussion and was information that the public both in attendance and observing on-line wanted and needed to hear. Your presence helped strengthen the validity of the discussion of these complex issues.
I intend to maintain the excellent dialogue and information sharing that the NRC and the CEC historically have enjoyed in our relationship and inter-agency protocols. Mr. Bill Maier, my Regional State Liaison Officer, will continue to keep you informed via electronic mail of upcoming meetings and developments as the NRC fulfills its mission of overseeing the safety of the SONGS reactors. We will, of course, maintain our close relationship and communications with Dr. Robert B. Weisenmiller in his capacity as the Governor-appointed State Liaison Officer to the NRC.
