I would like to express my gratitude for your participation in our Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) - sponsored roundtable discussion and meeting with the public on October 9, 2012, to discuss the issues surrounding the mechanical wear of the steam generators at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS). The input you provided was relevant to the discussion and was information that the public, both in attendance and observing on-line, wanted and needed to hear. Your presence helped strengthen the validity of the discussion of these complex issues.
Our agencies recently have communicated on matters involving SONGS, and I intend to maintain the excellent dialogue and information sharing that the NRC and the CPUC have enjoyed to this point.
