2012 Dresden Initial Examination Outline Review Comments WRITTEN EXAM OUTLINE - NONE SIMULATOR SCENARIOS
- 1. Recommend adding one more Instrument or Component Malfunction to the Scenario #2 for the BOP operator. Control Room Operator #5 has the Minimum number of component failures and if one of those gets picked up by the other applicant, an additional scenario would need to be run.
No additional malfunctions were added; there are a sufficient number of malfunctions for the ROs since they will be observed in multiple scenarions. Recirc MG Fan malfunction was revised from a trip to a degrading condition.
- 2. Need to add a post-EOP malfunction to Scenario #3. Additionally it seems that the two major events are really one event with the 2nd major a continuation of the first.
Facility considered the ARI failure as the post-EOP malfunction. Counted both major events since crew must deal with the loss of feed in addition to the failure to scram.
- 3. Is the NI failure on Scenario #4 significantly different from the NI failure in Scenario #4 of the Audit Exam; i.e., are the response actions different enough.
After further review there is sufficient difference between failures.
JPMS RO ADMIN
- 1. Select or write a Conduct of Operations JPM that is NOT associated with K/A 2.1.18 (Ability to make accurate, clear, and concise logs, records, status boards, and reports.).
The K/A has been oversampled (selected for the last three exams as well as for the 2012 Audit exam.)
- 2. Select or write a Conduct of Operations JPM that is NOT associated with K/A 2.1.7 (Ability to evaluate plant performance and make operational judgements based on operating characteristics, reactor behavior, and instrument interpretation. The K/A has been oversampled (selected for the the 2009 and 2010 NRC exams as well as for the 2012 Audit exam.)
- 3. Select or write an Equipment Control JPM that is NOT associated with K/A 2.2.12 (Knowledge of surveillance procedures.) The K/A has been oversampled (Selected for the last 4 NRC Exams as well as the 2012 Audit Exam.)
- 4. Select or write a Radiation Control JPM that is NOT associated with K/A 2.3.11 (Ability to control radiation releases). The K/A has been oversamples (K/A 2.3.11 has been selected on 3 of the last 4 NRC Exams as well as the 2012 Audit Exam).
All four JPMs were replaced.
2012 Dresden Initial Examination Outline Review Comments SRO ADMIN
- 1. Select or write a Conduct of Operations JPM that is NOT associated with K/A 2.1.2 (Knowledge of operator responsibilities during all modes of operation.) The K/A has been oversampled (selected for the 2009 and 2011 NRC SRO Exams).
Replaced.
- 2. Select or write a Conduct of Operations JPM that is NOT associated with K/A 2.1.4 (Knowledge of individual licensed operator responsibilities.) The K/A has been oversampled (selected for the 2009 and 2010 NRC SRO Exams).
Replaced.
- 3. Select or write an Emergency Plan JPM that is NOT associated with Emergency Classification, Emergency Notifications, or KI Usage. EP Classification/Notification were used on the 2008-2010 NRC SRO Exams and KI Usage was used on the 2011 NRC Exam and selected for the 2012 SRO Audit Exam.
Replaced.
CONTROL ROOM/IN-PLANT SYSTEMS
- 1. Recommend modifying SLC Injection JPM such that valves 1, 2, and 7 fail to automatically close and cannot be closed from MCR.
After further discussion, no changes were made.
