Pursuant to 10CFR50.91(b), State Consultation, I am notifying you that the NRC is currently processing an amendment (internally identified at this time as TAC Number ME8572) for the Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC). The NRC staff has determined that the amendment request involves no significant hazards consideration. The analysis on the issue of no significant hazards consideration is published in the Federal Register on page 77 FR 40654, dated July 10, 2012.
The current amendment is in response to an application dated May 1, 2012 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML12122A212)
2 The amendment revises existing TS 3.3.5.1 on a one-time basis only by adding a note to TS Table 3.3.5.1-1, Function 1d, Modes 4 and 5. This one-time amendment enables DAEC to re-coat the internal Suppression Chamber surface.
