Dear Ms. Becker:
Currently, we (the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff) are not requesting comments from State of Florida when we are issuing a license amendment for the nuclear power plants in Florida. This is based on a letter dated May 2, 2003 (ML032470912), from Mr. Michael N. Stephens (Environmental Administrator, Florida Depart of Health) to Ms.
Mozafari (Senior Project Manager, US NRC) that stated, in part, we do not need wish to receive a copy of the NRC issued license amendments. In addition, we do not need notification prior to issuing a license amendment. We wish to continue the current longstanding practice concerning prior notification.
Please advise if you would not like to continue the current practice regarding license amendments.
