NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF THE DRAFT PLANT-SPECIFIC SUPPLEMENT 48 TO THE GENERIC ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR LICENSE RENEWAL OF NUCLEAR PLANTS REGARDING SOUTH TEXAS PROJECT, UNITS 1 AND 2

The following document is enclosed for official filing with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA):

One printed copy and four CD's of draft Supplement 48 to NUREG-1437, "Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants," regarding the license renewal of South Texas Project.
Simultaneously with this letter, draft supplement 48 has been submitted to EPA via e-NEPA. In addition, a copy of draft Supplement 48 is being mailed or e-mailed to interested Federal and State agencies, industry organizations, interest groups, and members of the public. The distribution list is in Chapter 11. A copy of this document has also been placed in the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) Public Document Room, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland 20852, and in the NRC Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible on the NRC's website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. The accession number for draft Supplement 48 to NUREG-1437 is ML12324A049. Please note that the public comment period for draft Supplement 48 ends on February 22, 2013.
