Request for Additional Information associated with physical security plan update
- Philippe, By letter dated May 21, 2012 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML12144A159), Pacific Gas and Electric Company (the licensee) submitted the Diablo Canyon Power Plants Physical Security Plan (PSP), Training and Qualification Plan (T&QP), and Safeguards Contingency Plan (SCP), Revision 6. The enclosure to the letter contained Safeguards Information and has been withheld from public disclosure. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is currently reviewing the submittal to ensure compliance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR),
Section 50.54(p)(2).
Based on a review of the submittal, the NRC staff has determined that the following additional information is required in order to complete its review. The request for additional information was discussed with Mr. Schrader on July 12, 2012. It was agreed that a response to this RAI would be provided by August 13, 2012. Should the NRC determine that this RAI is no longer necessary prior to the scheduled date, the request will be withdrawn. The NRC staff has determined that no security-related or proprietary information is contained herein.
REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- 1. In section 15.1 of the PSP the license describes an alternate technology for assessment that is primarily used at Diablo Canyon Power Plant. Are there any other technologies used to meet 10 CFR 73.55(i)? Do these technologies meet the criteria for assessment equipment in 10 CFR 73.55(i)(1-3) and 10 CFR 73.55(e)(7)(i) (C)?
