Request for Additional Information on Fire Protection
- Gordon, During the staffs review of Fire Protection, the following questions were raised which require a formal response. Given that your next submittal is in progress and is scheduled to be sent to the NRC by 6/28/12, a formal letter would not be practical so this email serves as a formal request for information from the NRC.
Please included this response as an enclosure to the planned Fire Protection Report submittal on 6/28/12. If you have any questions, please contact me. Thanks.

- 1. Describe the actuation mechanisms for dampers and doors (within CO2 boundaries) that need to close when a CO2 system actuates (i.e., electro-thermal links, system pressure actuated mechanisms, etc.).
- 2. Do any of these dampers or doors rely solely on thermal links to close? If yes, justify the acceptability of this configuration.
