Reference:

1. Public Meeting between NextEra Energy Seabrook" LLC (NextEra Energy Seabrook) and the u.s. Nuclear Regulatory commission, April 23,2012 (MI-121070659),
2. NextEra Energy Seabrook letter SBK-L-12098, "Actions for Resolution of Alkali Silica Reaction (ASR) Issues," to NRC, dated May 3,20L2.

During the above referenced meeting, NextEra Energy Seabrook committed to the U.S. Nuelear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to provide a list of aotions it is taking to resolve ASR issues at Seabrook Station. NextEra Energy Seabrook provided the list of actions in Reference 2.ln a subsequent conference call with the NRC on May 7,2012, NextEra Energy Seabrook committed to providing supplementary information regarding the list of actions.

NextEra Energy Seabrook will take the following actions to resolve ASR at Seabrook Station:

1. Revise the prompt operability determination (POD) associated with AR581434581434 'Reduced Concrete Properties Below Grade in "Bo'Electrical Tunnel Exterior Wall,' by May 25, 2012. NextEra Energy Seabrook will notifr the site NRC Resident Inspector upon completion of this action.

) Revise the POD associated with AR16 64399, 'Reduced Concrete Modulus of Elastioity Below Grade in Containment Enclosure Building, RHR Equipment Vaults, EFW Pump House, and Diesel Generator Fuel Oil Storage Rooms,' by June 30,2012. The expanded scope buildings will be included in this POD. NextEra Energy Seabrook will notiff the site NRC Resident lnspector upon completion of this action.

3. Complete short term aggregate expansion testing (ASTM C 1260 Mortar Bar Expansion Test) by June 30, 2012. Results will be available for NRC review approximately 30 days after testing is complete.
4. Complete long term aggregate expansion testing (ASTM C 1293 Concrete Prism Test) by June 30,2013. Results will be available forNRC review approximately 30 days after testing is complete.
5. Submit the root cause for the organizational causes associated with the occunence of ASR at Seabrook Station and related corrective actions by May 25,2012.
6. Submit the License Renewal Aging Management Program for ASR-affected structures by May 25,2012.
7. Submit the evaluation, "Impact of ASR on Concrete Structures and Attachments,"

(Foreign Print 100716) by May 25,2012.

8. Submit the corrective action plan for the continued assessment of ASR in concrete structures at Seabrook Station including development of remedial actions to rnitigate the affects of ASR, where waranted, by June 8,2012.
9. Submit the technical details of the testing planned at the contracted research and development facility by June 34,2012,
10. Update the Maintenance Rule Structures Monitoring Program to include monitoring requirements for selected locations in areas that exhibit ASR by July 15, 2012. NextEra Energy Seabrook will notiff the site NRC Resident Inspector upon completion of this action.
11. Perform six-month interval crack measurements and crack indexing at 20 locations in areas that exhibit the highest crack indices by July 15,2012. NextEra Energy Seabrook will notifu the site NRC Resident Inspector upon completion of this action, Crack measurement will be performed at six-month intervals until a reliable trend of ASR progression is established.
12. Complete anchor test program by December 31, 2012. Results will be available for NRC review approximately 30 days aftertesting is complete' The dates identified above reflect NextEra's current plans and are subject to change based upon testing conditions and other considerations. In the event that a date changes, NextEra will notiff the NRC in writing.
