Letter from E. J. Leeds (NRC) and M. R. Johnson, (NRC) to All Power Reactor Licensees and Holders of Construction Permits in Active or Deferred Status, dated March 12, 2012, Request for Information Pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations 50.54(f) Regarding Recommendations 2.1, 2.3, and 9.3, of the Near-Term Task Force Review of Insights from the Fukushima Dai-ichi Accident

REFERENCE:

On March 12, 2012, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Reference (a) to all power reactor licensees. The NRC letter requests further information from addressees to support the evaluation of the NRC staff Recommendations 2.1, 2.3, and 9.3 from the Near-Term Task Force review of the accident at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear facility.

The NRC has concluded that it requires the information requested in the enclosures to Reference (a) to verify compliance with a plant's design basis and to determine if additional regulatory actions are appropriate. The enclosures to Reference (a) contain topic-specific information requests and schedules for providing responses.

In addition, Reference (a) requires applicable licensees to submit a response confirming receipt of the letter within 30 days. This letter confirms receipt of Reference (a) on behalf of the Constellation Energy Nuclear Group, LLC plants referenced above.
