ACCEPTANCE FOR REVIEW OF BOILING WATER REACTOR OWNERS GROUP (BWROG) TOPICAL REPORT BWROG-TP-11-023, REVISION 0, LINEAR ELASTIC FRACTURE MECHANICS EVALUATION OF GENERAL ELECTRIC BOILING WATER REACTOR WATER LEVEL INSTRUMENT NOZZLES FOR PRESSURE-TEMPERATURE CURVE EVALUATIONS (TAC NO. ME7650)
Dear Mr. Schiffley:
By letter dated November 17, 2011, the BWROG submitted for United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff review Licensing Topical Report (LTR) BWROG-TP 023, Revision 0, Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics Evaluation of General Electric Boiling Water Reactor Water Level Instrument Nozzles for Pressure-Temperature Curve Evaluations. The NRC staff has performed an acceptance review of the LTR and found that the material presented provides the technical information in sufficient detail to enable the NRC staff to proceed with a detailed technical review. The NRC staff expects to issue its request for additional information by April 13, 2012, and issue its draft safety evaluation by October 12, 2012. The NRC staff estimates that the review will require approximately 240 hours0.00278 days <br />0.0667 hours <br />3.968254e-4 weeks <br />9.132e-5 months <br /> including project management time. The review schedule milestones and estimated review costs were discussed and agreed upon in a telephone call between Lucas Martins, Project Manager, BWROG, and Joe Golla, Project Manager, NRC staff on January 23, 2012.
