ASLB Meeting Crystal River FL January 12, 2011 I wish to speak at the afternoon meeting held from 1:00 to 4:00. I am AGAINST Levy County Nuke plants because their bargeport and pipes across the Barge Canal violate the Resolution required by USACE, Washington, D.C for the State of Florida to receive the land transfers.
The Resolution was signed January 22, 1991 by Governor Chiles and the Cabinet: beginning "Whereas, the Governor and Cabainet of the State of Florida have previously determined that completion of the Cross Florida Barge Canal Project (hereafter "Barge Canal") could have caused incalculable damage to the Florida Aquifer and thereby threaten much of Florida's drinking water resources" continuing -(I will present the entire Resolution.)
Progress Energy Florida plans to deepen the present 12 foot depth of the Barge Canal by another 10 feet which violates the Resolution, which will cause a lawsuit against the State of Florida under 402 of P. L. 101-640, sec. 402 becoming effective upon Florida agreeing on the terms.
