SUMMARY

OF OCTOBER 27, 2011, MEETING WITH NEXTERA RE:

SEABROOK-SPECIFIC FLOW EROSION TESTING PERFORMED AT ALiON On October 27,2011, a closed meeting was held between members of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff, representatives of NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC (NextEra), and representatives of ALiON Science and Technology at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the results of the Seabrook-specific flow erosion testing performed at ALiON in support of their response to Generic Letter 2004-02, "Potential Impact of Debris Blockage on Emergency Recirculation During Design Basis Accidents at Pressurized-Water Reactors." A non-proprietary version of the presentation slides provided by NextEra is available in the NRC Agencywide Documents Access and Management System under Accession No. ML11266A051.

The results of the testing were discussed and the NRC staff did not have any significant comments. At the conclusion of the meeting, NextEra indicated that they would submit the full results of the testing to the NRC to support their response to Generic Letter 2004-02. A list of the meeting attendees is provided in the Enclosure. No regulatory decisions were made during the meeting.
