RE: Question on Chernobyl I can ask...I am asking because I am updating the SOARCA brochure, and we talk about Chernobyl in that brochure. I was hoping to make a blanket statement that no new Chernobyl style designs were planning on being built. Is there anyone in NRR/ NRO who might work on international items that might know off the top of their head?

RE: Question on Chernobyl Richard - I don't know of any on the top of my head (but I would hope no one would be following that RBMK type design ???) May I ask what's prompting the question or some additional background on this particular information request - SOARCA related??? I vaguely recall sometime last year (or maybe it was the year before) when I was working the Constellation/EDF license transfer review, that I heard of some press in the French nuclear industry of some concerns in one of its reactors for which environmental groups drew certain comparisons to the Chernobyl design.. probably not what you're looking for but that's all I have to offer.
I would think someone in NRO would be in a better position to shed some light in that area. Do you have an NRO contact?
