UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555"()001 August 9, 2011 Mr. Michael J. Pacilio President and Chief Nuclear Officer Exelon Nuclear 4300 Winfield Road Warrenville, IL 60555

SUBJECT:

LASALLE COUNTY STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 - CORRECTION TO ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS TO ALLOW RECEIPT AND STORAGE OF LOW-LEVEL RADIOACTIVE WASTE (TAC NOS. ME3054 AND ME3055)

Dear Mr. Pacilio:

By letter dated July 21, 2011, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML111610136), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment No. 202 to Facility Operating License (FOL) No. NPF-11 and Amendment No. 189 to FOL No. NPF-18 for the LaSalle County Station (LSCS), Units 1 and 2, respectively.

The amendments were issued in response to an application submitted by Exelon Generating Company, LLC dated January 6,2010 (ADAMS Accession No. ML100070298) as supplemented by letters dated August 20, October 14, and December 2,2010, and February 7, 2011 (ADAMS Accession Nos. ML102320599, ML102880116, ML103370375, and ML110390445, respectively).

The amendments changed paragraph 2.B(5) of FOL Nos. NPF-11 and NFP-18 to enable LSCS to possess and store byproduct material from Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2, Byron Station, Units 1 and 2, and Clinton Power Station, Unit 1, in the LSCS Interim Radwaste Storage Facility.

After issuance, it became apparent that the contents of paragraph 2.B.(5) in the revision bar were not correct. Currently paragraph 2.B.(5) reads:

Exelon Generation Company, LLC, pursuant to the Act and 10 CFR Parts 30, 40, and 70, to possess, but not separate, such byproduct and special nuclear materials as may be produced by the operation of LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2, and such byproduct materials as may be produced by the operation of Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2, Byron Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2, and Clinton Power Station, Unit 1.

M. Pacilio

-2 Paragraph 2.B.(5) should read:

Exelon Generation Company. LLC, pursuant to the Act and 10 CFR Parts 3040, and 70, to possess. but not separate, such byproduct and special nuclear materials as may be produced by the operation of LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2, and such Class B and Class C low-level radioactive waste as may be produced by the operation of Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2. Byron Station, Units1 and 2. and Clinton Power Station, Unit 1.

Please remove page 3 for FOL Nos. NPF-11 and NPF-18 issued on July 21.2011, and replace it with the enclosed corrected versions. This error did not impact Amendment Nos. 202 and No. 189 for LSCS Units 1 and 2, respectively. or change the NRC staff conclusions.

We regret any inconvenience this may have caused. Should you have any questions regarding this matter. please call me at (301) 415-3302.

Sincerely,

~T$B:~~:ct Manager a~~~i~nSing Branch 111-2 Division of Operating Reactor Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket Nos. 50-373 and 50-374
