ADDITIONAL TIME TO RESPOND TO A REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE PARENT COMPANY GUARANTEE AND ANNUAL FINANCIAL TEST
Dear Mr. Murray:
In your letter (Ref. 1) dated June 20, 2011, General Electric-Hitachi (GEH) requested an extension of the 30-day period to respond to a request for additional information (RAI) (Ref. 2) dated June 2, 2011. On June 17, 2011, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) staff and GEHs staff had a conference call to clarify the RAIs and request the extension. A summary of the conference call is being prepared as of the date of this letter. The RAIs had been sent to Keith Sherin at General Electric in Fairfield, Connecticut, where it was forwarded to the GEH office in Wilmington, North Carolina; you received the letter on June 16, 2011. You also stated that some of the requested information is not readily available, thus, necessitating additional time to prepare.
GEH requested an extension to August 15, 2011. This letter grants the extension. A response to Ref. 2 is due by no later than Monday, August 15, 2011.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations 2.390(d) of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Public Available Records System component of NRCs document system, Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS]).
