Units 1 & 2 Owners of power plants with a generating capacity of one megawatt or greater shall submit copies of reports or filings required by regulations, permit, or contract conditions that identify any of the following information for the previous calendar year:

1. documentation of the "take" of terrestrial, avian and aquatic wildlife subject to legal protection under California Fish & G. Code 2050 et seq., 16 U.S.C.A. § 1371 et seq., 16 U.S.C.A. § 1531 et seq., and 16 U.S.C.A. § 668 et seq. that occurred as a result of operation of the power plant.

There were no 'takes' of terrestrial, avian, or aquatic wildlife subject to legal protection due to Diablo Canyon Power Plant operations during 2008.

2. documentation and identification of the biomass (by weight) and species composition of fishes and marine mammals killed by impingement on the intake screens of each once-through cooling system.

DCPP Units 1 & 2 fish impingement has been determined to be very low (average approximately 2-3 pounds of fish biomass daily). No specific monitoring or ongoing quantification/identification requirements regarding fish impingement exist for the facility.
