Dear Mr. Ajluni:

By letter dated July 8, 2010, you submitted multiple relief requests for the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, Unit No.2, Operating License No. NPF-5. In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 50, Section 50.55a(g)(5)(iii), Relief Request ISI-RR-04, "Pressure Retaining Dissimilar Metal Piping Welds," would have provided an alternative to the inspection requirements because of the impracticality of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers inservice inspection requirements.

On October 22, 2010, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff requested additional information (Agencywide Documents and Access Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML102860083) and Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc. (SNC) responded in a letter dated November 23,2010 (ADAMS Accession No. ML103280372). The NRC staff then requested additional information on February 23,2011 (ADAMS Accession No. ML110460476) and SNC responded in a letter dated March 22, 2011 (ADAMS Accession No. ML110820261).

The response to the information associated with ISI-RR-04 for weld 2B21-1 FW-12AA-8 led to the need for a phone call for additional clarification, which was conducted on May 12, 2011.

Subsequently, by letter dated April 27, 2011, you withdrew Relief Request ISI-RR-04 that had been submitted in your July 8, 2010, letter mentioned above.

The purpose of this letter is to advise that the above-cited relief request is being treated as withdrawn.
