PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION, UNIT NOS. 2 AND 3 - ERATTA FOR EXEMPTION FROM TITLE 10 OF THE CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS, PART 50, APPENDIX R, SECTION III.G FOR THE USE OF OPERATOR MANUAL ACTIONS (TAC NOS. ME8055 AND ME8056)
Dear Mr. Pacilio:
As published in the Federal Register on April 7, 2011 (76 FR 19476), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff approved an exemption from specific requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 50, Appendix R, for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Unit Nos. 2 and 3. The exemption was issued by NRC letter dated March 30, 2011 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession Number ML102430566). This action was is in response to your application dated March 6, 2009, as supplemented on February 12, 2010 (ADAMS Accession Numbers ML090680141 and ML100470774, respectively). The application requested exemption from Appendix R,Section III.G, "Fire Protection of Safe Shutdown Capability," for the use of operator manual actions in lieu of the requirements specified in Section III.G.2.
Subsequently, Mr. Glenn Stewart of your staff informed the NRC staff of typographical errors within the exemption issued by NRC letter dated March 30, 2011. These typographical errors are noted as follows:
Cable ZD3B1313A should be removed from the first sentence of the last paragraph on page 25.
- The third sentence of the second paragraph on page 23 should state"... Fire Area 37, Action S," instead of "Fire Area 36, Action R."
- The last sentence on page 38 should state "... Action V," instead of "... Action U."
- The last sentence on page 40 should state"... ZD3B1321 0," instead of"... ZD3A 1321 D."
- The first and second sentences of the second paragraph on page 41 should state
... "Action Y," instead of "... Action V."
The NRC staff has reviewed the errors noted above and confirmed that they are typographical and do not alter any conclusions in the issued exemption or the technical basis for those conclusions.
