Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit No. 1; Docket No. 50-220 Special Report: Containment High Range Radiation Monitor Instrumentation Channel 11 Inoperable In accordance with Action 3 of Nine Mile Point Unit 1 (NMP1) Technical Specification (TS) Table 3.6.11-2, "Accident Monitoring Instrumentation Action Statements," Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC (NMPNS) is submitting the following Special Report concerning inoperability of Containment High Range Radiation Monitor Instrumentation Channel 11.

Description of Event On March 18, 2011, at 0846, Containment High Range Radiation Monitor Instrumentation, Channel 11, (TS Table 3.6.11-1, Item 7) was declared inoperable in support of planned maintenance to replace several circuit board electrolytic capacitors.

The redundant channel of Containment High Range Radiation Monitor Instrumentation, Channel 12, was operable during the period Channel 11 was inoperable.

Cause oflnoperabilitv The cause for the Containment High Range Radiation Monitor Instrumentation Channel 11 being inoperable was planned maintenance to replace several electrolytic capacitors.

.1 4 Document Control Desk March 28, 2011 Page 2 Action Taken Following replacement of the electrolytic capacitors and recalibration, the Containment High Range Radiation Monitor Instrument Channel 11 was declared operable on March 18, 2011, at 1439.
