U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
One White Flint North 11555 Rockville Pike, Room 0-7B4 Rockville, Maryland 20852 Southern California Edison (SCE) will meet with NRC staff to discuss its planned submittal of an amendment request to revise the fire protection requirements in the operating licenses for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS), Units 2 and 3.
The planned revisions are intended to adopt the risk-informed, performance-based alternative described in "National Fire Protection Association Standard NFPA 805," as permitted by paragraph 50,48(c) of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
The public is invited to participate in this meeting and will have one or more opportunities to communicate with the NRC after the business portion, but before the meeting is adjourned.
