RE: RAI for Relocating Operating and SR for PORV Acoustic Position Indication from Tech Specs (TAC No. ME4542)

Donna, That is correct. Mr. Hansher indicated that no teleconference was need for the RAIs, therefore a 30 day response time from March 7, 2011 is acceptable.

My apologies for the error.

Subject:

RAI for Relocating Operating and SR for PORV Acoustic Position Indication from Tech Specs (TAC No. ME4542)

Lynnea, Good morning. OPPD received the letter dated March 7, 2011, providing three RAIs re:

the license amendment request to relocate the operating and surveillance requirements for the PORV, safety valve position and tailpipe temperature instrumentation from the Technical Specifications. It appears in the second paragraph of this letter that the response due date information was mimicked from the March 3rd RAI letter for the relief request (TAC No. ME4541).

It is my understanding that there was a phone call on February 24, 2011, between NRC staff and Mr. Bill Hansher and other OPPD staff members to discuss the RAIs for the relief request (TAC No. ME 4541) and it was agreed during the telecom that the relief request RAI response would be returned within 7 days of receipt of the RAIs.

However, for the RAIs associated with the license amendment request (TAC No.

ME4542), although Mr. Bill Hansher did discuss this with you during a February 24th

phone call, no specific RAI response time was agreed upon, so OPPD was planning to submit within the standard response time of 30 days from receipt of the letter, which is April 5, 2011.

Please confirm that this 30-day response time is acceptable.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Best regards, Donna Lippy Sr. Nuclear Licensing Engineer 402-533-7358
