Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC Oconee Nuclear Site, Units 1, 2, and 3 Renewed Operating Licenses: DPR-38, 47, and 55 Docket Numbers: 50-269, 270, and 287 Re-Registration for Use of General License Spent Fuel Cask Number 61 The purpose of this letter is to correct an error in the original September 24, 2001, General License Spent fuel Cask Number 61, 30-day notification letter. Specifically, the original letter referenced Amendment 2 of the Cask Certificate of Compliance (72-1004) when in actuality; Amendment 3 was in-effect at the time of the Dry Storage Canister (DSC) [cask] loading.

TRANSNUCLEAR, the DSC and storage module vendor, has issued a revision to the fabrication certificate of conformance that demonstrates the cask and the corresponding storage module in which it is stored, conforms to Amendment 3.

As such, in accordance with 10CFR72.212 (b)(1)(ii), Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC (Duke Energy), hereby notifies the Commission of storage of dry fuel under Cask Certificate of Compliance 72-1004, Amendment 3. The date of storage was September 14, 2001, and the cask load number was 61. The cask model is the Standardized NUHOMS 24P and the dry storage canister identification number is ONS-24P-R61. The physical storage location at Oconee Nuclear Station's Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation is Module E-31.
