November 15 Inspection of Electrical and I&C Hello Greg:

I am providing this message to confirm Region II is planning to conduct a routine inspection of electrical and I&C construction activities the week of November 15, 2010. Inspectors currently designated to participate include the following individuals:

Carl Jones (Lead), CCI Nicholas Karlovich, CCI Jerome Heath, DRP, McGuire RI Chelsea Smith-Standberry, CCI Shani Lewis, EICS Jerome has assisted in inspections on Unit 1 in the past. Let me know if I need to arrange for Jerome to contact you on his access to the Unit 2 site.

The inspection will continue the ongoing evaluation of safety-related construction, and will investigate the status of selected NPP activities (see below). The inspection results will be integrated into the quarterly report that will be issued by the Sr. Resident Inspector at the conclusion of the fourth quarter (Report No. 050-0039/2010-605).

Our team plans to travel to the WBN2 site on Monday, November 15, 2010. We will be prepared to provide an entrance briefing as early as 11:00 AM that morning. If the inspection proceeds according to expectations, we will plan to conduct our exit briefing at 11:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2010.

You would assist us greatly if you would arrange for our team to have advance access to the following records prior to our arrival on site:

1. Latest report of safety-related scheduled work, entitled 3-Week Lookahead - Electrical and I&C Work
2. Updated report (or list) of U2 Closed Safety/QA Related Work Orders
3. Copies of the following closed safety-related work orders:
a. 09-818572-000 (UNID WBN-2-BD-212-B001-B)
b. 09-952118-015 (UNID WBN-2-TE-068-0002B1-D)
c. 110842866 (UNID WBN-2-PENT-293-0049-G)
d. 110955768 (UNID WBN-2-FCV-061-0191-A)
e. 111040702 (UNID WBN-2-PNL-276-L185/B)
f. 111327438 (UNID WBN-2-TS-030-0179-B)
4. Copies of procurement package(s), inspection records, installation records, and/or acceptance test/inspection records for Radiation Monitoring System equipment.
5. Copies of closed work orders or other documents implemented to verify as-built field installations, and to test safety-related fuses and interrupter devices.
6. Copies of closed work orders or other documents implemented to install and test PORV Acoustic Monitoring System equipment.
7. Copies of closed work orders or other documents implemented to install and test the emergency supply to the Pressurizer Heaters.

I will contact again you closer to our inspection date to finalize our plans. Please let me know if I need to provide some more information for you.
