Description:==
Concrete requires continuous wet curing during the early days of strength gain because the chemical reactions within the concrete depend on the presence of water. Wet curing also minimizes drying shrinkage before the concrete gains sufficient strength to resist cracking stresses.
Data to be Collected and Analyzed:
Records of curing procedures. (Exhibit 1 provides samples of curing logs)
Verified Refuting Evidence: Original inspection records, including the "concrete curing log" documented curing conditions. Wet curing was performed by sprinkling water using a perforated hose or burlap bag for a period of 7 to 10 days (Minimum specified was 7 days).
