REQUALIFICATION PROGRAM INSPECTION LIMERICK GENERATING STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2

Dear Mr. PaciUo:

In a conversation on site September 8, 2010, Mr. John Caruso, Senior Operations Engineer, Region I, and Mr. Corey Goff, Operations Training Manager, made arrangements for the U. S.

Nucleslr Regulatory Commission (NRC) to inspect the licensed operator requalification program at the Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2. The inspection, which will focus primarily on requalification training for Unit 2, is planned for week of November 15, 2010, which coincides with your regularly scheduled requalification examination cycle. The staff at your facility should prepare and conduct the requalification examinations in accordance with your NRC-approved requalification program.

In accordance with 10 CFR 55.59(c), the NRC may request facility licensees to submit their bienni,al comprehensive requalification written examinations or annual operating tests as necessary to support the NRC's inspection program needs. In order for the NRC to adequately prepare for this inspection, please furnish: 1) an index or summary of condition reports written in the past two years in which licensed operator errors were determined to be the root or contributing cause; 2) an index or summary of condition reports written in the past two years on simulcltor performance problems; 3) an index or summary of simulator performance test results in the past two years; 4) the examination schedule, sample plan, written examinations and operating test scheduled for the week of the inspection, and 5) procedures governing the requalification program to the NRC by the week of November 1, 2010. Mr. C. Goff has been advised of this request and provided with the name and address of the NRC lead inspector assigned to this inspection.

This letter contains information collections that are subject to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.). These information collections were approved by the Office of Management and Budget, approval number 3150-0018.
