r)C COOK Nuclear Station WRITTEN EXAM SAMPLE METHODOLOGY The written examination sample plan was constructed using the WOG PWR WA Database Program Version 1.1 - 2008.

This program randomly selects 75 KAs for the RO exam, then completes the SRO outline by randomly selecting the remaining 25 KAs.

After the random outline generation, a review was conducted to determine the applicability of the selected systems, events, and KAs. Items were identified that were not applicable to DC Cook or for which a question of appropriate difficulty (>2.0) could not be written. The majority of these items were Generic KAs tied to systems that were not system related. These items were listed on ES-40 1-4 along with a brief explanation. A final review was conducted to ensure appropriate coverage and minimize overlap with the Operating examination.

The replacement KAs were randomly selected. This was accomplished by first generating a random number in Microsoft Excel based on the number of items available. The number of items available was determined by the number of KAs in the category area (or generic area). The random number generated was compared to the KA numbers in that category to select the replacement KA. If the replacement KA was not suitable another random number was generated.

When a suitable KA could not be found within the same category, a review of the Group

& Tier Balance was conducted and a KA was randomly selected from an underweighted category in order to maintain balance. In one case another systedevent was randomly selected from within those in the same tier.

As Discussed in NUREG 1021, Revision 9 Supplement 1, ES-40 1 Section D. 1.b (ES-401, Page 4 of 33, the generic WAS associated with evolutions or systems were selected from within those listed. All generic WAS remained eligible for the Tier 3 WA selection.

03/02/10

Probabilistic Risk Assessment Input The Cook Nuclear Risk Profile was reviewed and used as input to determine the content of the examination. The following tables were reviewed:
