Crystal River RB delamination Meena, I spoke with one of the contractors working on the TMI tendon cutting activitiies. He has worked for many years at the Crystal River site doing the periodic tendon surveillance. During conversation he mentioned something that the SIT may be interested on if they haven't heard about it already.

He said that in the last three Crystal River tendon surveillances almost all horizontal tendonds on two of the buttress were loose and failed the surveillance. These tendons then had to be re-tensioned after every surveillance to the specified value. This means that as the tendons were re-tensioned, they would be in a way crushing the concrete. This may have contributted to the delamination.

If you have any questions please call me at TMI (1717) 948-1165. Thanks !!
