Name Title Agency/Organization Bob Bryce Hydrology Lead PNNL Becky Kreig Aquatic Ecology Lead PNNL Vojin Janjic Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Call title/subject: Other Permits - Watts Bar Nuclear Plant Purpose of call: We called Vojin Janjic to get information on permits required by the State of Tennessee for the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (Ph 615 532 0670.) Souraya Suthi had given us his name as a person to contact.

Call notes:

We asked Vojin about the need for a 401 certificate for the Watts Bar plant. He indicated that he thought those would be issued by the Corps if one was needed. We asked if an Aquatic Resource Alteration Permit (ARAP) was required and he said that Dan Eagar ( Ph 615 632 0708) or Robby Baker (Ph 615 532 0710) could provide a better answer that he could.

We also asked if alternate thermal limits had been established for Watts Bar. He said that the NPDES permit discussed the thermal limits for the plant. The thermal limit for the plant (35 degrees C) is different than the State limit of 30 degrees C. The rational for the difference is presented in the permit.

Name Title Agency/Organization Bob Bryce Hydrology Lead PNNL Souraya Fathi Permit Writer Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, Chattanooga Field Office Call title/subject: Other Permits - Watts Bar Nuclear Plant Purpose of call: I called Souraya Fathi to get information on permits required by the State of Tennessee for the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (Ph 615-532-0485.) I had her phone number from a previous call to the State about the NPDES permit. I had tried to call Dick Urban but was unable to reach him.

Call notes:

Souraya indicated that she was the NPDES permit writer for the Watts Bar Plant but was not familiar with the other permits required. She recommended we contact Vojin Janjic who would be more familiar with the requirements. Vojin Janjic - (Ph 615 532 0670)
