Dear Mr. Bhatnagar:
In a letter dated September 7,2007 (see Agencywide Document Access and Management System Accession No. ML072570676), as supplemented April 1, 2010 (ML100950044), the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) submitted information regarding pressure locking and thermal binding of safety-related power-operated gate valves as related to Generic Letter 1995-07 for Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (WBN), Unit 2. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has reviewed the information provided by TVA.
In an effort to complete the NRC staff review, enclosed is a request for additional information (RAl) regarding pressure locking and thermal binding of safety-related power-operated gate valves.
A response is required within 30 days of receipt of this letter.
