FW: DHEC follow up testing Heather/Ruben, FYI, this was just to keep you in the communciation loop in case any further media interest outside of last Friday's DHEC press release about upcoming sampling at Catawba, Robinson, and Summer. By the way, Mike Roberts meant 7/24 vs 8/24 in the enclosed email he sent me. Keep in mind, as I have indicated in talking with Mike, when the same initial samples were taken back in January, the licensee analyzed via gamma spec. their split sample and determined that there was naturally occurring contribution involved, but DHEC did not do one (why they are resampling).

DHEC follow up testing DHEC will be here in the morning (8/24) to sample one private well located on Straight Shoot Rd. I do not have an actual address, but the relative location is identified on the map below.
Their initial sample indicated 32.8 pCi/I gross alpha. The EPA Drinking Water Standard for gloss alpha is 15 pCi/I excluding Radon and Uranium.
Therefore additional analysis is required to quantify the portion due to Radon and Uranium. DHEC did not perform gamma spectroscopy on the original sample.
They will provide us a split sample for our analysis.
