Status Mark/Lou Anthony and I attended the 7:30 status meeting conducted by Garry Miller. Yesterday the focus continued to be on the bay where the delamination was originally discovered, between Buttresses #3 and #4. LCT technicians completed NDE (using the impulse-response (IR) method) in Panels V and Y and will continue today on Panel S. (These are the panels to the left of the construction opening.) Upon removal of an electrical conduit just above the equipment hatch, the NDE work will shift to the area below Panels Y, Z, and AA in an effort to precisely identify the limits of the delamination.. (See page 3 of the plan which I sent late Monday for a good idea of where these locations are on the Containment Building.)

Last night confirmatory core drilling was done in Panels D and J, where two core bores were taken in the delaminated area. These core bores are being assessed by the licensee. The holes will be inspected using a boroscope. Today confirmatory core bores are scheduled to be done to the right of the construction opening near Buttress #4 for verification of the edge of the delamination.

An 8-inch diameter core bore is scheduled to be taken in Panel K, between Buttresses #4 and #5, where the IR result indicated an abnormality.

Additional IR will be conducted in the bay between Buttresses #2 and #3 today as resources permit.
