Turkey Point Containment Wall Cut During.Reactor Head Replacement in 2004 & 2005 Mark:
Turkey Point Senior Resident Inspector Scott Stewart just called me back after he talked to the licensing Enginnering Manager per his memory.
- 1. Steam Generators were replaced in 1982. Possibly they went through the dome or no cut and the licensee did not identify any cracks. This was different from NRR talking points that Turkey Point did have a dome delamination previously. However, Scott will ask the manager to check their records for the original construction and Steam Generator Replacement to see if any dome or wall was cut and any cracks or delaminations were identified.
- 2. The Containment Walls were cut for the reactor head replacement during 2004 and 2005. No cracks or delaminations on the walls were identified.
- 3. Turkey Point has tendons in its reactor buildings same as Oconee, Crystal River, and Summer.
So far, Oconee and Turkey Point both with tendons had no cracks identified when they cut the containment walls.
