FW: Crystal River SIT status update

Cliff, Raj has been attending the SIT conference call regarding the Crystal River containment issue. There will be a call today at 3 pm in Meena Khanna's office on the 9th floor if any of the structural reviewers would like to come (not a big office so just 1 reviewer if possible, I am just not sure who that may be).

-. r The next SIT debrief conference call is scheduled for Monday, 19 Oct, at 1500.

Interim updates for Friday, 16 Oct:

Licensee tested a non-qualified UT technique on about a 6' x 5' grid area of containment next to the cut opening. They believe they had some success identifying further delamination in this grid area. They will evaluate the UT data today.

Licensee is performing an engineering evaluation to determine whether they can cut core bore samples in areas where tendons are tensioned. The current plan is to determine extent of the delamination using smart core bore samples based off of UT informational results.

Licensee plans to have concrete samples tested to see if they can determine the age of the crack.

Licensee plans to have some preliminary schedule information available for the SIT today.

" 'The SIT team will use licensee schedule information to further map out inspection activities. We will decide today whether SIT presence is needed over the weekend. Otherwise, SIT members will be back onsite Monday. The SIT has been working with the ORNL contractor, Dan Naus, and plan to process him onsite Monday.
