I saw him in the hallway and let him know one was performed after the dome was repaired.

Based on the Dome Delamination and Repair Report, the licensee sucessfully completed Containment Construction Integrity Test after the repair in December 1976.

You are welcome.

I heard that we might have a conference call tomorrow among Progress, NRC site, Region II, and HQto deal with the concrete cracks affecting the Hatch Transfer System in the original design to put the support on the opening wall of the containment. The licensee has not come out with any resolution to change their design. The licensee is searching for a 229

company to use a sound system to detect the extend of the cracks around the bottom wall of the opening to evaluate the impact to the movement of the Old and new Steam Generators.

Attached are concrete cracks at the opening of the containment wall. The cracks were shown around the opening. Per the email from Len Wert, the cracks could be from the top to the bottom of the containment wall and 360 degrees around. Jery Blake mentioned the Crystal River dome lamination problem and repair during the construction. I noticed the dome problem from the Condition Report early this morning and am reviewing the Dome Lamination report prepared by the Gilbert Association dated December 1976.

Based on the review of the Condition Report for the current crack in 2009, Sixth Tendon Surveillance Report in April 1998, and the Dome Lamination and Repair Report in 1972, there is a potential relation of the dome cracks or lamination and current containment wall concrete cracks.

Crystal River U3 Containment cracks Marvin and Rich, attached are the pictures of the containment. All four sides of the opening have cracks. As we discussed, the licensee is modifying the base plate for anchor bolting for SG replacement.
