Entergy Nuclear Operations Inc. Letter Number: 2.10.019 Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station Page 2 Subsequently, on February 25, 2010, the NRC technical staff and Entergy held a conference call to discuss the changes identified in the response to the RAI and the new exemption (Reference 4).

Based on the conference call and the changes to the initial exemption (Reference 1),

Entergy has elected to withdraw the initial exemption. A revised exemption for Fire Zone 2.16 will be submitted.

In addition, Entergy withdraws the exemption submitted in Reference 4. Withdrawal of this exemption is based on the conference call discussion and information contained in NRC Staff Memorandum from Sunil Weerakkody, Chief Fire Protection and Special Projects Section, Subject "Resolution of Questions Concerning Compliance with Section III.L.2 of Appendix R," dated February 10, 2005 (ML050330417).

This letter contains no new commitments.
