Crystal River 3 - Containment Separation Issue - update Containment Separation Issue: The licensee has qualified the use of an NDE technique to identify concrete delamination. The official containment NDE inspection started Sunday Oct 25 and is expected to take 1 to 2 weeks to complete. The NDE technique will be validated by a sampling of core borings. Last week's NDE results were obtained using procedures and equipment that were not yet qualified. These preliminary unofficial results have not identified any delamination/cracking outside the area of the containment opening (i.e.,
bounded by two buttresses on either side of the opening - see Crystal River Containment/!Reactor Building Sketch in PITA).
