Dear Mr. Schimmel:
By letter dated September 4, 2009, Mr. David Lee Sebastian submitted a petition pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.206, "Requests for Action under this Subpart," with respect to the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant. The NRC staff of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has reviewed the petition and has enclosed the proposed director's decision.
If you believe that portions of the decision are incorrect or fail to fully address issues raised in the petition, please provide your comments to me. The NRC staff is making a similar request of the petitioner. The staff will then review any comments provided by you and the petitioner and consider them in the final version of the director's decision, with no further opportunity to comment.
Please provide your comments within 30 days from the date of this letter.
