Timeline for Risk Informed Initiatives 4

Callaway PRA Quality Status Two peer reviews have been conducted on the Callaway internal events PRA:

o WOG PRA Peer Review o Scientech Gap Analysis (using ASME Std, through 2005 Addendum)

Gaps to Capability Category II of the Standard, and open WOG Peer Review findings, are being addressed in a current, large-effort PRA upgrade (Update 5) project.

o Team effort by AmerenUE and Scientech o Scheduled for completion 4th Quarter 2011 5

Current Model (Update 4) Quality Status:

Gaps to CC II of the Standard are documented in a set of Findings/Observations, or F/Os.

o No A-Level F/Os (Extremely important and necessary to address.)

o 24 B-Level F/Os (Important and necessary to address, but may be deferred until the next PRA update) o 20 C-Level F/Os (Marginal importance.)

6

Gap Assessment Status Scientech has preliminarily assessed the current internal events model gaps to Capability Category II with respect to RITSTF Initiative 5b.

B Based d on thi this preliminary li i assessment, t none off the th identified gaps would appear to preclude implementation of 5b using the current PRA model.

o This conclusion is based, in part, on the NEI 04-10 process, which provides for addressing quality gaps with sensitivity analyses.

7

Gap Assessment Status NFPA 805 Fire PRA under development Final Peer Review Report received March 9, 2010.

External and shutdown risk will be addressed, initially, with qualitative or bounding analyses.

8

5b Schedule Considerations Approach:

o Submit ~ 6/2010 o Based on current PRA model, with sensitivity analyses to address gaps to Capability Category II (per NEI 04-10 guidance).

9

Open Discussion and Questions Submittal will follow LAR Template (TSTF-425 (Rev 3))

o Assessment and NSHC based on 7/6/09 FR o No significant variations or deviations o The Independent Decisionmaking Panel may be separate from the MR Expert Panel o Submittal and implementation processes to utilize inputs from STARS (Diablo Canyon & STPNOC) o Table assessing all Callaway TS SRs for inclusion - Include with LAR?

o Will include TS mark-up pages o Would NRC want TS typed pages with LAR, or prior to LA issuance date?
