REQUEST: Special Inspection at Crystal River RE Containment Crack
- All, The region plans on performing a special inspection at Crystal River, regarding the containment crack, tentatively starting on Monday, October 12, 2009, lasting for three months. The purpose of the inspection is for the NRC to be proactive on this issue and to determine the acceptability of Crystal River's containment before they begin moving fuel back into the core. Also, this will allow an open means of communication to members of the public. The region will conduct a public meeting sometime after Thanksgiving.
REQUEST: The region is requesting names from HQs to provide expertise support during this inspection but also an expert to assist in the inspection. Can you provide the names to me by COB today (10/8)?
