RE: Region II Morning Call Notes for Thursday, October 8, 2009 Thanks. By the way, during our screening meeting today, our Region I representative mentioned that TMI-1 is getting ready for an SG Replacement, and they are in a coast down to their outage now. We've been sharing the information from CR with the residents there. Also, it was mentioned that Ginna did an SG replacement back in the 1990's, and cut into containment to support. I figure you are probably aware of this, but thought it best to share what I heard, just to make sure.

RE: Region II Morning Call Notes for Thursday, October 8, 2009 You are correct. I was focused on the AE, not the particular design of containment.

FW: Region II Morning Call Notes for Thursday, October 8, 2009
- Marvin, During the morning phone call, I thought I heard that that the designer of the CR containment (Gilbert Associates?) also designed the containments at VC Summer, Perry, TMI and Ginna. We are doing some research, and noted the following from the FSAR:
The FSAR Chap. 1 page 3 calls out these plants with similar designs.
The Reactor Building is similar in design to the containment buildings for the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1 (Docket No. 50-289), the Turkey Point Plant (Docket Nos. 50-250 and 251), the Palisades Plant (Docket No.
50-255), the Point Beach Plant (Docket No. 50-226), and the Oconee Nuclear Station (Docket Nos. 50-269, 50-270, and 50-287).
I'm pretty sure I heard the information correctly, and I checked my notes to make sure. My guess is that the FSAR is talking about containments that are similar in design, and you were talking about containments designed by the same engineering firm. I'm just trying to confirm that I heard right. Could you let me know?
Thanks!
