- Luis, Wanted to circle back with you. The ORNL fellow is an excellent candidate, but may have worked on the CR license renewal... if that is the case, he may not be the best fit for your desire to put him forward as an independent look. If he did not work on CR, then we are ready to support you with the two folks for the SI team. this should come to fruition tomorrow. If he did work on CR, then we will find someone else. Let me know if there is anything else we can do for you.

Support to Special Inspection at CR Importance: High Meena Khanna has recommended Dr. George Thomas from her branch to support the Crystal River SI. Mr.
Thomas is an experienced structural engineer and will provide a strong engineering support to the SI. Also, regarding our search for an "independent" look, Mr. Dan Naus, Oak Ridge staff, has been highly recommended and has extensive experience in concrete degradation. We understand Mr. Naus has already done some work for NRC in the license renewal area, and Kamal Manoly will pursue through NRR/DLR to see if Mr. Naus can be available to support the SI.
Meena is coordinating her efforts through Region II branch chiefs Marvin Sikes and Mark Franke (SI Team Leader).
