Change in Submittal Regarding Proposed Allowed Outage Time One-Time Extension for the Chiller.Upgrade Project NRC letter to TVA, 'Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Unit 1-Change in Proposed date from Summary of December 1, 2009, Pre-Application Meeting with Tennessee Valley Authority Regarding Proposed Allowed Outage Time One-Time Extension for the Chiller Upgrade Project:'
dated December 28, 2009 The purpose of this letter is to notify the NRC of the Tennessee Valley Authority's (TVAs) decision not to submit a proposed Technical Specification (TS) change request regarding the allowed outage time one-time extension to support the chiller upgrade project at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Unit 1 at this time. This proposed change was discussed with the NRC during a public meeting on December 1, 2009.
As noted in the referenced letter, TVA had informed the NRC that it had planned to submit the proposed TS change request on Friday, January 15, 2010. This letter will serve as notice of TVAs decision to not submit the proposed TS change request on the committed date.
If TVA decides to pursue the proposed TS change request, TVA will notify the NRC to appropriately schedule the review so that other ongoing NRC licensing activities related to both Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 are not adversely affected.
