Re: Relief Requests A-32 and A-33 Attachments:
RR-A32 Page for NRC.pdf; RR-A33 Page for NRC.pdf Stephen-As requested, FENOC's response to the two NRC reviewer questions, in bold font, are as follows:
- 1. Section A1.4(d) of Relief Request RR-A33, Attachment 1, provides requirements for additional examinations when inservice examinations detect defects in overlaid dissimilar metal welds. However, Section A2.3 of Relief Request RR-A32, Attachment 2, does not contain the same requirements for the additional examinations as that of Relief Request RR-A33. Please explain why Relief Request RR-A32 does not contain the same requirements for the additional examinations.
FENOC Response: Request RR-A32 should have the same section as Request RR-A33, entitled "Additional Examinations." FENOC proposes to add the section to RR-A32. See the attached page from RR-A32 that depicts the proposed resolution.
- 2. Section A1.4(d) of Relief Request RR-A33, Attachment 1, references A1.4 (c)(4), which should be A1.4(c)(5).
Please verify if the reference of A1.4(c)(4) is correct.
FENOC Response: The reference within Request RR-A33 should be "A1.4(c)
(5)."
See the attached page from RR-A33 that depicts the proposed resolution.
(See attached file: RR-A32 Page for NRC.pdf)(See attached file: RR-A33 Page for NRC.pdf)
Please advise on the acceptability of these responses.

The reviewer had two follow-on questions that he would like you to respond to listed below:
- 2. Section A1.4(d) of Relief Request RR-A33, Attachment 1, references A1.4 (c)(4), which should be A1.4(c)(5).
Please verify if the reference of A1.4(c)(4) is correct.
Please ask the licensee to respond, by email, to the above two questions by today, 12-15-09 if possible.
