- 2. Oyster Creek- Water in Cable Vault Found to Contain Tritium - UPDATE (From Region I Call) - After samples from two additional monitoring wells came back positive for tritium, the licensee is reconsidering whether the 6' aluminum condensate transfer line is actually the source of the leak.
The location of the wells has caused the licensee to reprioritize the likely source of the leak, and they have placed plans to Install a hot tap around the previously suspected 6 Inch line on hold. They expect to excavate under the condensate transfer building to perform a visual inspection for a leak source. Samples of other site wells and samples of the discharge canal effluent have not shown actMty above minlum detectable activity.
