Dear Mr. Nazar:
By letter dated September 1, 2009, Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) applied for an amendment to the Turkey Point Units 3 and 4, Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-31 and DPR-41. The proposed change would have modified the licenses to revise the date specified in License Amendments 234 and 229 for Units 3 and 4 regarding the implementation of the Boraflex Remedy in the spent fuel pools. Subsequently, by letter dated November 9,2009, FPL withdrew the amendment request for Unit 3. In that letter, FPL stated that a separate application to update the licensing basis for the Unit 3 spent fuel pool will be submitted.
The Commission has filed the enclosed Notice of Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License with the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
