ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NOS. NPF-14 AND NPF-22 FOR THE SUSQUEHANNA STEAM ELECTRIC STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2
Dear Mr. Rausch:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-14 and NPF-22 for the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station (SSES), Units 1 and 2 (Enclosures 1 and 2, respectively). The NRC issued the renewed facility operating licenses based on the NRC staffs review of your application dated September 13, 2006, as supplemented by letters submitted to the NRC through July 28, 2009. The review did not result in any amendment to other parts of the licenses namely Attachment 1, Appendices A, B, and C for SSES, Unit 1 and Attachments 1 and 2, Appendices A, B, and C for the SSES, Unit 2. The period of extended operation for SSES begins at midnight July 17, 2022, for Unit 1 and at midnight March 23, 2024, for Unit 2.
Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-14 and NPF-22 expire at midnight July 17, 2042, and midnight March 23, 2044, respectively.

The technical specifications reflect amendments issued to SSES as of the date of this letter.
Amendment No. 254 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-14 and Amendment No. 234 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-22 were issued by the NRC by letter dated November 09, 2009 (Agency wide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML092950110). In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 54.33(d), PPL Susquehanna, LLC shall update the technical specifications regarding Amendment No. 254 for Unit 1 and Amendment No. 234 for Unit 2 consistent with the timing requirements set forth in those amendments.
