PIs. update this email on Monday as we discussed earlier.

As of Sunday morning, I understand the licensee had discovered only one leak (in an 8-inch'condensate reject line) in the excavated area around the condensate transfer building. I also understand that this 8-inch line is not the same as the 6-inch line that was the subject of earlier speculation and contingency planning. Still no leak has been identified in the 6-inch line.

The licensee's excavation efforts were scheduled to have been completed by 4:00 am Monday morning, per discussion between Dave Lew, myself and Tim Rausch, OC Site VP late Friday. That was before this weekend's transient and scram due to the M1A transformer issues. Mr. Rausch indicated late Friday that the many potential leak sources would continue to be investigated even if a leak in one of those sources was identified. The licensee was also finalizing plans to conduct a visual and UT inspection of the CST, tentatively planned for the week of May 11. With the plant now in cold shutdown, I would envision that the licensee intends to identify any leaks and have them repaired before restart.

I also note that from our discussions earlier today, that additional well samples taken over the weekend were below minimum detectable levels for tritium.

thx, DJR
