U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) 6003 Executive Boulevard Building, Room EBB 1-B-15 Rockville, Maryland 20852 Southern California Edison (SCE, the licensee) is requesting a meeting with NRC staff to discuss the root cause and corrective actions for the divider plate weld defects found in the replacement steam generators intended for future use at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 3.

The public is invited to participate in this meeting and will have one or more opportunities to communicate with the NRC after the business portion, but before the meeting is adjourned.

Proprietary information may be discussed at certain times during this meeting. These portions of the meeting will be closed to members of the public who have not been granted access to the information by the owner of the information.

Interested members of the public that plan to attend this meeting should inform the NRC meeting contact by September 11, 2009.
